Type of damage/deficiency – NOISE

Cause – Lubricant starvation

Reason – Some parts of the friction components are in contact. No cohensive lubricant film to carry load and dampen the noise:

Cause – Unsuitable Lubricant

Reason – Lubricant film too thin because the Oil’s or the Grease base oil’s viscosity is too low; grease may cause an unsuitable thickner; particules may cause noise

Cause – Contamination

Reason – Particles interrupt the lubricant film, resulting in Noise
